MSSQLSD for PHP works, but SQL Server Agent doesnt run

Feb 18, 2010 at 7:15 AM

Hi all. Here is my problem:

I have a  MS SQL Server 2005 (64bit) on my MS Windows 2003 SP2 (64bit) and SQL Server Agent works fine, but Microsoft SQL Server Driver for PHP doesnt works, when im trying to connect to server i get an error message : "The SQL Server Driver for PHP requires the SQL Server 2008 Native Client ODBC Driver (SP1 or later) to communicate with SQL Server. That ODBC Driver is not currently installed."

Ok. Then i have installed SQL Server 2008 Native Client x64. Microsoft SQL Server Driver for PHP works fine and connection to my host estabilished. But now i cant run SQL Server Agent, sqlcmd.exe, my sheduled tasks doesnt work because of native client 2008.

Hi tzi0,

Excuse the delay in response as typically monitor our forum actively instead of this site.

We are unaware of why SQL Server Agent does not work because of SQL Server Native Client 2008 being installed. Both of these are completely separate from the php driver and, as one can see from the source code, the php driver only uses the ODBC API exposed by SQL Server Native Client.

I recommend you post your question on either of the following forums where the right knowledgeable folks will be able to assist:

Hello AshayC.

I think you've replied to the wrong person.
